Your child’s art table and easel are instrumental in developing and honing his artistic potential and because this is so, they deserve proper care and treatment to ensure that they stay with your kid for a long time.
So what is the best way to take care of your kid’s art table and easels? For one, regular cleaning is essential to keep both the art table and easels looking brand new. Since the childrens art table is where your kid does his art projects, it’s inevitable to spill some paints or have pencil marks on it.
It is smart idea to put a plastic covering on the top of his Guidecraft Art Table so that the stains won’t stick on the surface. The plastic covering can be easily wiped with soap and water, and when there are hardened paint stains that cannot be removed anymore, it’s easy to replace the plastic covering.
It is best to just use soap and water because strong chemicals in some cleaning agents may damage the art table’s print or paint.
For the kids art easel, it’s probably not a good idea to put a plastic covering. But what you can do is clean it every after use to ensure that the paints are washed away before they solidify and becomes impossible to remove on the easel.
The art table and the easel are not the only things in your kid’s art room that requires proper cleaning. For example, the Creation Station Art Center has storage spaces for art supplies like crayon & brush bins, shelves and drawers. These too call for some cleaning. Wipe off dust and paint stains before they settle. Again, it’s better to use just soap and water. The Galt Easel on the other hand has a wooden storage tray that is best cleaned by wiping with a dry rug.
Cover up the art table and easel when not in use. You can do this every after your kid is done with his art session and more importantly when he’s not going to use it for a long period of time like when you’re going on week-long trip or when you’re visiting his grandma three states away.
Also, keep in mind not to abuse his art table and easel. These kid furniture are designed specifically for art projects only. Don’t use them as rack or storage places for heavy equipment but only for art and school supplies.
Teach your kid how to take care of his stuff and to learn to value the things that he owns. Make him see the value of his art table and easel which can be useful in helping him become a famous and respected artist someday. |
