Say Bye-bye to Your Kid's Nightmares

It isn't easy being a kid. While adults think that they are carrying the world on their backs, kids also have pretty hard up times. Being dependent to other people for your needs may make one feel like a king or a boss but it also has its drawbacks. Like you don't always get what you want, which is in a way a good thing, since that is a reality in life that everyone should accept.

Another reality in life that causes a kid to crease up his forehead and furrow his eyebrows is nightmares. While nightmares are not necessarily real and are merely products of an imagination gone wild, for your kid it does seem real. It is the thought of a poltergeist creeping up to his bed, or monsters hiding behind the kid furniture on the other side of his bedroom that sends your kid to your , knocking while sobbing, asking to sleep in for the night.

Even though it is normal for kids to have occasional nightmares, there are a few tricks that can help him sleep a good night sleep without waking up to escape the claws of a five legged monster.

An important thing to do is always tell your kid that you understand his fears but he shouldn't let this get the better of him. Explain to him nicely that monsters are all in the mind and as a smart kid, he can fight these creatures by thinking that they are not real and then make them disappear.

Never laugh at him or dismiss your kid's fears as silly and unreasonable for it may damage your kid's self-esteem. Instead, always tell him that he's a brave kid and no monsters can ever be strong enough for a strong child like him.

You can also arrange his room in a way that will prevent him from having nightmares. Proper arrangement of kid furniture in his bedroom can lessen the possibility of bad dreams. For example, don't place his bed in front of the mirror because this usually sends a kid to imagine all sorts of things coming out of it.

Opt for kid friendly furniture kid with fun vibrant prints. Kid furniture maker like GuideCraft offer bedroom furniture themed collections. The Guidecraft Safari Collection which includes a director's chair, rocking chair, table & chairs, step stool, and a toy chest that will give the room a wild safari feel and will surely send your kid off to a dream to a safari adventure.

Also, it a good idea to avoid kid furniture that emanate a creepy shadow in the dark. Get rid off the clothes hanger that looks like the skeleton from the Nightmare before Christmas when lights are out. Choose the KidKraft Fire Truck Clothes Pole, a bright red pole with a yellow fireman's helmet on the top and a wood Dalmatian at the base will definitely brave up your little kid.

Moreover, if your child is afraid of the dark, lighten up his bedroom when he sleeps with a nice floor lamp from Kidkraft . This kid furniture has a foot light switch with a dimmer slide to create a warm ambience and keep your little one cozy.

Lastly, a big good night hug and a kiss on the cheek from you are also good assurance of a sleep tight sweet dreams night for your little one.
